Brilliant story Lu. Medium will loose good writers like you if this AI madness continues. It's infiltrating and hampering genuine writers, as now every second thing is coming back as AI. Even stuff you write yourself. I spent a lot of my time at weekend doing AI checks on my stories. All came back as humanely written but AI picked up some words, and links. I was determined to eliminate all AI and spent 2 solid days and nights changing words I used in my stories, particularly earlier ones. Eventually there was no trace of AI detected in any of them, but lots came back as matched or plagiarised. This isn't the case, as I wrote stories with many quotes, crediting exactly who write the quotes and providing links. Also, as my own stories were already published, my own words were appearing as potentially plagiarised. It's beyond a joke and soul destroying for good writers writing here. No matter what you do, you can't win with AI detection. Regarding whether AI decides you are a bot or human, don't let them decide, you decide. Clearly you are human. I regularly have to do "bot" tests, like picking out how many cars or trees there are in a picture, to prove I am not a bot! Let's stay sane and healthy and get back to our inner self, as this AI thing is truly destroying minds.
