Great story Deborah. It resonated with me. We can't define our value by writing on medium. But it helps us decide how and what we value. I've often become exhausted and weary from.writimg, reading and engagement on medium. Yet any earnings never remotely reflect such a massive investment of emotional energy and time. At times I get very disheartened knowing the 'efforts' I make to write etc, all for a few cents. I know they add up but it can be such ward work.
