Hi Jeff, since last commenting on your article just yesterday, I've published another story on Medium (I'm getting there slowly but surely). It was also about light and it's amazing I came across your article, as light plays a significant role in my life and I think in most people's. Just yesterday I was meant to be attending a "Candlelight" concert, but unfortunately wasn't able to do so. The new article I wrote is about exactly this, and the Psychology and History of Light, etc. I did a lot of research. There is one study you might be interested in, about the correlation between self-control and light temperature (illumination). It's really quite interesting, as I've been very intrigued myself by lights and find they have a profound effect on emotions and also cognition.
