I appreciate the points raised here - that it is better to submit a draft first, especially if an article is over a day or so old. If less than that (ie) only self-published within a few hours, it hasn’t had much chance to get traction and it’s like “chicken and egg” whereby having no traction is a problem, no matter how good the article might be. I agree though about loosing out if a writer doesn’t submit a draft to publication at the start, as it’s a kind of false economy of holding out rather than going for it and submitting draft (after it’s been thoroughly grammar, spell-checked etc).
