I believe that content was probably added (ie) somehow ‘got there’, after the story was published, and seems a glitch, after it was published. I've just tested my own story, which I published originally 14 hours ago. I made some changes to my story just now, tonight. I then went into my browser history and back to when I originally published it, and saw the changes I made just NOW, in the original version - so it 'looked' like it was there before I published my story, but it definitely wasn't. I also believe that the content would've looked out of place anyway, so an editor would've picked that up. Maybe we will never know what really happened, but what something might look like isn't always what it is. Regarding editors checking stories after they publish them, by no means, do all editors do that. They do their part, in voluntarily editing and publishing stories, and don't have to read every single story they publish. Editors aren't responsible for glitches, or if something like that happens. Writers should also always read their own story when it's published, to make sure it's all ok and nothing strange has happened. It's a writer's responsibility and their story. The blame can't just be lumped onto editors when things like that happen.
