I do have a dark floater in my right eye and last year noticed I had a similar experience you described. I thought looking sideways that something was flying across the room and it didn't make sense, as there wasn't anything flying or unusual. Later I noticed the floater and was worried it might be a detached retina. I had an eye scan and was told it was a floater and should go away and to ignore it. The floater I have is annoying and it hasn't gone away. I hope there won't be more. I hope you continue succeeding in writing and get all the help and support you can with your visual problems.
