I don't believe any editor who freely gives of their time, not even having time to write themselves, would be motivated to do such a nonsensical thing. It benefits absolutely no-one. I hope this issue is clarified, as such problems can and do arise sometimes. I also had an issue once with a story, not the same as that, but something else in another publication, which was really weird. Things do happen, lets not loose sight of that.
