I think there is a difference between speaking your mind and smart. They're not the same thing. It's not always smart to speak one's mind. But valuing honesty I often do it. However being uncivil is usually negative and when someome is like that I don't bother with them. I experienced this offline too many times and happy to loose contact with such people who can't make any effort to be civil. I value honesty above smartness any time.
