I think everyone when they are young does jobs they don't like or really want to do, whether they "make it" big time or not. It depends what you mean by "made it", because success means different things to different people. In my generation, over twice your age, "making it", involved being independent, and maybe college for some but not everyone. I emigrated when I was young and lived abroad, meeting loads of different people from different backgrounds. Worked in many areas, had great choices and work flexibility and put myself through night college in my 30's to get a degree. It's definitely not too late to do another degree. Lifelong learning is a big thing. As regards doing menial jobs like labour etc, I worked in shops during school and even at 13 yrs old, and did jobs I didn't really want. There is no one fit all solution. I think staying open minded and figuring out what YOU want is what you need to do. It's your life. Maybe get career advice and further education options. Menial jobs aren't easy but it's experience and money. Your story shows great insight and maturity, so use that to your advantage.
