I think time freedom is important and such decisions depend on one's stage in life, and life circumstances, etc. The world of world has evolved and changed, so that online and remote work are much more common now than 10 years ago. So much depends on other life factors, like bills, living expenses, etc, and people sacrifice their time to earn money. However, unhappiness in jobs etc takes also a personal toil and I feel is why many are turning to the idea of time quality and working for themselves. It is not always an easy road either and working for oneself can be mentally and physically challenging also if one doesn't look after their health. I think also there may not always be as much control as they think, as they are trying to make a living also. So I guess it really depends what is most the suitable in a given situation for someone. There is a lot to be said from getting the inner satisfaction of working for oneself and being creative, doing things you like, like writing and other creative things.
