I woke up this morning to complete snow all around Heather. It is lovely to look at but of course, the hazards of travelling are different. When it turns to slush and sleet, it can be dangerous just walking. There was snow forecast here yesterday and it got colder by the hour and last night was freezing. It's not as cold today now that the snow has fallen.
I think snow does create a magical wonderland when inside looking out, but is a different story being out in it. Last night and today I think about the homeless and how some will die from hyperthermia sleeping outside. Charities sometimes creates space for them during particularly cold winter spells but they are under such enormous pressure, with so many homeless. It's so horrible that these people literally die from the cold on the streets.
