It was same here in Ireland. Records were sealed until Oct 2022 when law changed and for the first time in history adoptees were able to find out all early birth info, including names of both parents. I have written stories about this if you are interested. I was born in Mother and Baby Home, Magdalen Laundry run by Catholic nuns in 1960's. They were cruel places. Ot is great you got information about your BM and can put a closure on who she was. They didn't put my birth fathers name either on birth cert. It those years illegitimacy was hushed away.
