It's a great way to see how excuses for bad behaviour or wrong doing can be explained by stating "I'm a (....)". And I think there are unconscious archetypes at play. Each star sign is renowned for something (ie) Pieces are said to be selfless, gentle, etc, Gemini sign of twins or maybe 2 personalities, Scorpio sign of revengeful, Cancer sign of homemaker, motherly and so forth. But the more concerning thing is how we see ourselves and who do we believe we are. Are we going to sit around and wait to have archetype star signs projected onto us? Even within the conversation of the 2 women you witnessed, you saw it was a two-way process, one "transferring" their explanation of why they behave like that to another person. Whether star signs or not, this is what people do daily to influence and control others. It is like transferring the "shadow side" of ourselves, even unconsciously or accepting someone else's projection of ourselves, maybe people who don't even know us very well or at all. That can be very disturbing. At least friends know each other to some degree. So when we behave out of character or as someone we don't believe we really are, we start filling in the gaps and think, "oh that's because I am a Scorpio, or have Scorpio rising in my astral chart.". We have internalised and introverted others ideas of who we are, as opposed to who we really are and indeed who we want to be. Therefore not only depriving ourselves of freedom of choice, but pidgeholing ourselves in stereotypical ways according to starsigns etc. It is like a form of prejudice, only acceptable. Maybe there should be a "starsignism" to protect pur minds against this kind of mind manipulation.
