Oh please don't give up! You're already doing great writing this story, which shows you're a good writer with great insight. This is quite normal, believe it or not, to not get reads. You have to keep persisting. Try to increase your exposure, share you story links everywhere, social media etc. Get into some publications, there are thousands! If one doesn't accept you, try another, keep trying until you get at least one and build on that. Rome wasn't built in a day. It will take time to get noticed on medium. It's not an overnight success thing, and anyone who says that is lying. I have been 6 months now on it and always have the fear I won't get reads. You need to make yourself known and keep sharing your stories. If people don't see your stories, there is no chance of them reading. Also keep learning and improving. Write for your audience you target, include personal anecdotes but write with your audience in mind. Find things they want to know, or are interested in. We may feel our stories are great but it's the audience we need. Without them you're writing only for yourself. Don't give up!! Keep on going, learning and improving.
