I think when someone intentionally wants to bring down another person (along with themselves) it's about narcissistic people who control and won't respect the separate identity of another person. They basically want to destroy the other person too. For me, that a crucial sign of a manovolent person. Destroy your own life if you choose but destroying others too is pathological.
