Thanks for reading. I think it definitely does. The feeling of disconnection, thinking you can separate your online and real life identity entirely gives rise to a feeling of anonymity. It's one thing wanting privacy and that's an understandable mindset but another to "mask" your real identity, don't mean just your real name but personality. Problem is one can only mask their personality in short term, like at an interview, but longer term masking is far more difficult.
