Thanks Jody, it's been a very stressful day. I have completely reset my phone and deleted all apps other than those which are necessary. It's been stressful. A while ago I was suddenly landed with unexpected electricity bills, and now this! But on the other hand I've been lucky I only got scammed for less than 1 euro, instead of a lot more. I have spoken to police and they said that's how it works. They try a small amount (ie) 1 euro and then try larger amounts, in my case it was for 262 euro! And there were 3 or more attempts. They were all in Australia. Seriously worrying. It's no longer safe online, either on facebook or even Medium. Someone yesterday sent me an odd comment asking "how I am today?" and where I was from (despite claiming to have read my About Me story and liking it!!). I replied that I had an emergency to deal with and explained about the scam. He said he was very sorry and next time I checked my notifications, he came up as a "deleted user". I had the same with some others recently. I am not saying that it had anything to do with what happened, but that I no longer feel safe online! I've wiped my phoned and all apps deleted (including Facebook and messenger), and will only keep necessary apps and protect myself now.
