Thanks so much for reading Olive. Yes, DNA can reveal many different ethnicities we never knew, as well as our descendents (vikings etc). There are ethnicity reports but there is quite a lot of variances with them depending on the company testing and research methods they use. On my first DNA test with Ancestry, I showed ethnicity as from Ireland, Wales and also Scotland, and also Finnish and Scandinavian. On Ancestry, my ethnicity shows as predominately Irish with 1% Welsh, and on Genomelink analysis, it is very different to the others, with 76% Irish, and remains from Europe and even some from Asia. Funny, as some of my recent matches have strong European (Italy etc) ethnicity but I've yet to find out who they are! It's also good to keep an open mind with analysing traits too, as they can change with updated research and also paying attention to our own experiences is important, as well as interpreting data. Thanks so much for reading. Hope you get back to writing more. I enjoy reading your stories too. 🌼
