That's interesting! What's more interesting, is that I've just done a 'test' on my own story in the publication this happened in (as I'm also an editor and know I definitely wouldn't ever do something like that). But the interesting thing is, I wrote a story 14 hrs ago, and published it in the publication. However, just now (tonight — 14 hrs later), I've made some changes to my story. I didn't delete my browser history and when I looked at the original editing before I published it, the changes I made tonight were there! This means that the story could very well have had the content added AFTER it was published and it’s probably a glitch, as who would add content to a story after publishing it! You didn't do anything wrong. I don't believe editors would do that. Even if the content WAS there before the story was published, I'm sure an editor would notice it, if it didn't fit in with the rest of the story. It would likely stand out as being different, and in this case, there were differences even in the subheadings, which were bigger, than the rest of the story.
