The Medium year certainly didn't get off to a wonderful start Jonathan. The problems created tension, doubt and conflict, with many trying to decide whose side they were on (ie) stay quiet and patient, it's only a glitch, or vent angrily, or somewhere in between. The problems, however, are far more complex, but sad that it caused a drift amongst writers who sensed something more serious was up than just having a bit a patience. Time will tell how this pans out, but I don't think people should give up hope. If they want to write on Medium, just do so. If not, don't. We can't change Medium but we can change our attitude, and that's the most important thing.

I love your story of your daughter's game of silence. You're right, adults shouldn't be playing such games but they certainly do.
