This is an awesome essay which discusses a very important topic that affects our lives daily, often on an unconscious level. On an unconscious level we know if someone is trying to manipulate us, and that can result in doing the same back. Of course, this isn't good but destruction. Being aware of how we are persuaded and vice versa vs manipulated, is a big help in understanding the differences. Two questions I would ask myself are (1) how much self-belief do I really have and (2) how am I trying to persuade someone? If I don't believe in myself, it's impossible to persuade anyone in a good way (as I will always think I am wrong or have no power either way). Once we believe in ourselves, it is becomes much clear how we try to persuade and influence others, and whether it's good or bad. Then we have control over both, being persuaded and persuaded, so it's more likely it will be a positive good result. I would like to delve more into persuasion and write about it, as it's very important to understand. We experience it so much every day and it can either ruin or enhance a life depending on our understanding and use of it. Thank you for sharing this story. It is truly excellent.
