Very interesting story. I guess the bad can die young too but for some reason this notion seems to be attributed to good peoole. I think good people dying provokes a greater sense of loss as they are missed and grieved so much. Maybe why they say "the good die young". The bible passage stating that the good dying young is to spare them misery in later life is something daunting to think. Imagine if someone good died you knew and didn't know, and there was a lot of trouble in your life as of recent years. Does this become a self-prophecy? Like saying "I am bad because that good person died young" or does it get us to objectively reflect on who we really are? Would the good person who died young be proud of who we are today? We judge ourselves by outer standards, not really knowing what they are. Very thought provoking story.
