What a wonderful story of great courage, adaptability and strength. I love the photos. Summer in London is special, different to other places. I lived in London almost 18 years up until around 15 years ago. I moved to North of England and then returned to my home country. I loved London and found it my home for a long time. I love the magnificant buildings and architecture, the green areas (Hyde Park, St James's Park etc). I worked near Buckingham Palace and St James's Park for many years and took daily strolls in the park. There is so much to do in London. The only time I was back there was for a few days in 2020/21 and it was a bit of a culture shock, having not been there for so long. I used to go around Leicester Square and Piccadilly a lot when I lived there but when I returned and visited, it seemed so overwhelming and noisy and couldn't believe I used to always be around there. I guess it was just a matter of getting used to it again! The pace is definitely faster than in other parts of the UK or other countries where the pace is slower. This is a wonderful story you should be so proud of, making London your new home and getting off to a wonderful start, despite the horrific situation you've left behind. I hope you settle quickly into your new life in London.
